Select the color of CDC that match the hatch

Select a bunch of cock hackle fibres.

Run the tying thread down the hook shank to a position just over the hook point.

Wrap the fibres for the tail.

Tie in two thin strands of golden silk floss.

Wind the strands in touching turns down to the tail and form a nice body. Tie in two CDC feathers by the tip (not too close to the hook eye!)

Wind the feathers carefully and avoid trapping any fibres. Four or five turns will do. Secure the stem with enough thread windings and clip off the waste.

Form a nice head and whip finish.
