Editor note: The Heggeli is one very famous Norwegian fly, that works well when fishing for salmon, sea trout and brown trout.

It was originally created in the 1960's by Bernhard Caspari to be used when fishing in lake/river Heggeli in the area north of Oslo (Northmark) in Norway.

Original fly have a wing of bronce mallard. Over the years many variants of this fly have been created.

One rule many salmon fishermen use when tying this fly is to make the wing more full when used in more colored waters.
